The Afghanistan LGBTIQ+ Organization (ALO) is a distinguished non-profit entity dedicated to the promotion of the rights and welfare of LGBTIQ+ individuals within Afghanistan. Position Title: Grant-Making/Fundraising Officer

Employment Type: Part-Time, Contractual

Duration: 9 Months

Location: Remote

Deadline: April 15th, 2024

Compensation: $625 per month (equivalent to 14,300 Czech Koruna)

Role Summary:

The Afghanistan LGBTIQ+ Organization is in pursuit of a highly motivated and experienced grant-making/Fundraising Officer to enrich our team. This essential role entails a remote, part-time commitment over a period of nine months.

The selected candidate will be instrumental in securing the financial sustainability of our initiatives through the identification of grant opportunities, the drafting of compelling grant proposals, and the execution of innovative fundraising strategies.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities that align with our organization's mission and objectives.

2. Craft and submit persuasive grant proposals to secure funding from various sources.

3. Formulate and implement strategic fundraising initiatives aimed at enhancing our financial resources.

4. Foster and maintain robust relationships with donors, stakeholders, and partners to ensure ongoing support.

5. Diligently monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising activities, providing regular reports on outcomes and insights for improvement.

Qualifications:

1. A proven track record with at least two years of relevant experience in grant writing and fundraising activities, preferably within the realm of LGBTIQ+ advocacy or other human rights-oriented organizations.

2. A Bachelor's degree in a field pertinent to the role, such as Non-Profit Management, Communication, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.

3. Exceptional proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively.

4. An understanding of LGBTIQ+ issues and the socio-political landscape of Afghanistan will be considered an advantageous asset.
