UNHCR
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, supports governments in protecting people forced to flee their homes because of conflict or persecution, and stateless persons, helping them build better futures.
In Czechia, UNHCR supports the government in ensuring access to asylum procedures, upholding the rights and protection of refugees, asylum-seekers and stateless persons, and supporting the inclusion and integration of refugees.
Through its NGO partners and funded refugee-led organizations, UNHCR provides: legal information and counselling; integration-related support and social counselling in accessing housing, education, employment and services; mental health and psychosocial support; as well as specialized services to victims of trafficking and survivors of exploitation.

- An organization based in Brno that focuses primarily on legal and other support for LGBTIQ+ foreigners. Here you can get a lawyer for your asylum or other case, support for housing, finding a job or healthcare. It also organizes community-oriented events where you can meet other LGBTIQ+ foreigners, as well as Czechs.

- Q-HUB
- Q-Hub is a network of volunteers from the professional and lay public who participate in awareness-raising, research and educational activities in the field of sexual, gender and relationship diversity through various projects. Its main perspective is health and psychology, which is given by our roots at the Institute for Psychological Research (INPSY) at Masaryk University. An association based in Brno, focused mainly on supporting women and transwomen, but also open to other people in need. 6) Emergency Numbers in the Czech Republic
In case of an emergency, help is just a phone call away. The following emergency numbers are available throughout the Czech Republic, and calls are free of charge:
- 112 – General Emergency Line
For all types of emergencies (police, fire, medical). Operators speak multiple languages, including English, making it a good choice for foreigners. - 150 – Fire Department
For reporting fires, gas leaks, or other fire-related emergencies. - 155 – Medical Emergency Services
For immediate medical assistance or to request an ambulance. - 158 – Police
For reporting crimes, including violence, theft, or other threats to personal safety. - 156 – Municipal Police
For less urgent issues, such as noise complaints, public order disturbances, or traffic violations.
