For reporting fires, gas leaks, or other fire-related emergencies. - 155 – Medical Emergency Services
For immediate medical assistance or to request an ambulance. - 158 – Police
For reporting crimes, including violence, theft, or other threats to personal safety. - 156 – Municipal Police
For less urgent issues, such as noise complaints, public order disturbances, or traffic violations.
Tips for Using Emergency Numbers
- Stay Calm: Clearly describe the situation and provide your location. If you don’t know the address, describe nearby landmarks, or provide a number that you find written on the nearest lighting pole.
- Language Support: If you don’t speak Czech, ask for an English-speaking operator, especially when calling 112.
- Provide Details: Be ready to answer questions about the nature of the emergency to help responders arrive better prepared.
